About Tiaga Prem:

Tiaga Prem has been practicing and teaching yoga for 25 years.


He was a teenage runaway who has struggled with drug + alcohol abuse for most of his life.


He attended treatment for the first time at 20 years old.

Since then he has attempted to get sober using more conventional methods like AA, Counselling, Live in Treatment, Therapy and more.


What worked was a consistent Yoga Practice.



He practices and teaches Ashtanga Yoga.

His primary teachers are Taylor Hunt, Tina James, and David Garrigues.


He has also studied and taught Jivamukti Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa Krama Yoga (Krishnamacharya lineage), Kundalini Yoga, and has received initiation to teach from his teacher Sri Dharma Mittra.


He is an internationally recognized teacher, who has mentored hundreds of students and teachers. Specializing in helping people of all body types access Ashtanga Yoga and helping folks get sober and stay sober!


Tiaga Prem has a deep knowledge of many spiritual traditions and sees Ashtanga Yoga not only as exercise - but a spiritual practice that can change your life for the better!


He has pilgrimaged to India, and is a devoted scholar of Classical Hatha Yoga.


He is also a big fan of hardcore, punk, hip hop, reggae, and gospel music.
